"Looking for peace is like looking for a turtle with a mustache: You won't be able to find it. But when your heart is ready, peace will come looking for you." - Ajahn Chah
Get your heart ready and your mustache on to enjoy a fun day of racing and/or hiking in the beautiful woods of Eagle Creek Park. The 5K, 10K, or 15K run will start next to Peace Learning Center's Eagle Creek Park location. After the runners are started, hikers will have the chance to find their own turtle with a mustache as they complete a nature scavenger hunt during their event. One-of-a-kind prizes (Hint: the name of the race might be a clue!) will be awarded for the winning runners and hikers.
This first annual fundraising event will include unique activities for all ages - including a Tiny Turtles play area, local food trucks, live music, recycled art fair, recovery yoga, Zumba sessions, turtle races, and many other fun activities to help you get you find peace and celebrate peaceful living! Be sure to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to enjoy all of the day's activities.
Plus, who doesn't love a cute little turtle with a mustache?
What makes this event even better? All proceeds will help Peace Learning Center continue its work to teach local children and youth how to make more peaceful choices in their own lives. Peace Learning Center is a an Indianapolis-based non-profit with a mission to educate, inspire and empower people to live peacefully and a vision to create a community of peace where respect is primary and justice is real.
