Rock the Relay

Rock the Relay offers a distance for everyone, both runner and walker alike. This marathon relay is a great way for participants to compete in a team environment. Gather your friends, family, co-workers, etc. and share the task of running a marathon. It will be a ton of fun and a great bonding experience. With the right team, you may just run your fastest marathon and gain the potential for some good bragging rights!

Teams of 1-6 participants will run a marathon consisting of 2.2 mile loop around beautiful White River State Park. Feel like covering the distance alone? Register as a solo participant and complete all 12 loops. Want to have some help, grab some friends and register as a team of 2, 3, 4, or 6. Teams of 2 participants will complete 6 loops (13.1 miles) a piece, alternating every 2.2 mile loop. Teams of 3 participants will complete 4 loops (8.8 miles) a piece, teams of 4 participants will complete 3 loops (6.6 miles) a piece, and teams of 6 participants will complete 2 loops (4.4 miles) a piece. Participants will rotate after each 2.2 mile loop is completed, staying in the same rotation throughout the marathon.

Saturday, April 13 from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM on the Old Washington Street Bridge in White River State Park

The top three teams to finish in each team division will receive a prize. Other fun prizes will be awarded to the team with the most creative name and the best dressed team.

All Relay finishers will receive a Finisher's Medal.

Parking is available in the Indiana State Museum parking garage ($3.00 and Up, Credit Cards Accepted) as well as the Indianapolis Zoo lot ($5.00, Cash Only).

Back on my Feet (BoMF) is a national nonprofit organization that is dedicated to creating independence and self-sufficiency within the homeless and other underserved populations by first engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self esteem. The organization does not provide food nor shelter, but instead provides a community that embraces equality, respect, discipline, teamwork and leadership. A portion of the Rock the Relay proceeds will benefit the Back on my Feet organization.
