Trax for Backpacks 5/10K

The Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota has been the poorest place in America with a median income of just $3500.00 a year. The school drop out rate is soaring at an estimated 70% and the schools on the Reservation fall into the bottom 10% of funding.

Since 2004 we have been delivering new backpacks filled with school supplies to the Reservation. In July of 2012 we will be delivering 900 backpacks to the children. Our long-range goal is to be able to give every child on the Reservation a new backpack and school supplies each year.

T-shirts may not be available for participants registering after October 15. Overall and age group awards to winners. Free refreshments will be provided to participants.

Lots of great raffle items donated by local merchants. Tickets sold the day of for $1 each, 6 for $5 or $10 for an arms length.

There is a $3 daily park entrance fee for those who do not have a yearly pass to Metro Parks that is not included
in the registration fee for the 5k/10k.
