POW/MIA Remembrance Run/Walk

The 2nd Annual POW/MIA Remembrance Run/Walk in Support of Siouxland Freedom Park brought to you by the Missouri River Runners and Mercy Medical Center- the #1 Heart Hospital in Iowa will take place at Bishop Heelan's Memorial Field and will last 24 hours beginning on Friday May 25th at 12:00 (noon) come rain or shine!

Friday May 25
11:45 am - Opening Ceremony at Memorial Field
12:00 (noon) pm - The 24 hour run begins

Saturday May 26
09:00 am- Stroller Roll
11:00 am - Kid's POW/MIA run/walk for ages 10 and under. Distances will vary according to age.
12:00 (noon) pm - TAPS

Families, schools, organizations, and businesses are encouraged to develop teams to participate. This participation does not have to extend for the entire 24-hour period. Participants may join the run/walk for any length of time: one lap, one-mile, one hour, or the entire event.

Post run/walk recognition will be provided for teams completing all of the following standards:

Gold

• Continuously have a team member running throughout the 24 hour period
  
• Team mileage must be equal to or greater than 300
  

Silver

• Continuously have a team member running for a total of 18 hours
  
• Team mileage must be equal to or greater than 150
  

Bronze

• Continuously have a team member running for a total of 12 hours
  
• Team mileage must be equal to or greater than 100

These are only guidelines for the team competition; you can challenge your team to participate in any fashion. Each team member will need to complete an individual run/walk registration and each team will need to designate a team captain.
