Louisiana Lions Stride for Sight 5K Race and Fun Run

This is a fundraiser of the Lions Club of Shreveport and Bossier City to raise funds and awareness for the Louisiana Lions Eye Bank.

Start and Finish at the Downtown Airport with the run along Airport Drive and Clyde Fant Parkway North

5k Run and 1 mile fun run for all ages.

Sunday, January 22, 2012, 1 mile fun run starts at 2pm, 5k run starts at 2:15pm.

Pre-registered 5K race participants, who do so before the cutoff, will receive a finishers medal, and a long sleeve "Louisiana Lions Stride for Sight" tech-T. Trophies will be given for male and female overall race winner and runner-up, also according to gender and age. Fun Runners, who register before Jan.14th, will also receive a finishers medal and a 100% cotton t-shirt.

12 and under, 13-17, 18-24, 25-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41-50, 51-55, 56-60, 61-65, 66-69, 70 and up!

Early Registration is $15 until December 10th , $25 through January 21st. Race day Registration is $30.

8 & under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+

Every pre-registered participant, by Jan.14th, will receive an original "Louisiana Lions Stride for Sight" shirt.

5K Race runners will receive a long sleeve Tech-T and fun runners will receive a 100% cotton t-shirt.

Packet pick up will be held at Sportspectrum:
* Thursday, January 19th, from 12 pm- 7 pm
* Friday, January 20th, from 10am - 6pm
* Saturday, January 21st, from 10 am- 6 pm.

You may also pick up your packet on race day at the race site from 1pm til 3pm.

Drawing prizes will be awarded to runners who bring old eyeglasses to the event. One ticket per pair of eyeglasses! Why do we want old eyeglasses? To give the gift of sight to people in need in other countries.

Stay after the run to enjoy good food, music, to receive drawing prizes and awards. Find out who the Lions are. Take advantage of an opportunity to become one!

Strollers, wagons, baby joggers, and any hand pushed or pulled vehicle will be allowed on the course, but at a walk pace capacity only. Absolutely NO in-line skates, roller skates or runners with baby strollers will be allowed on run course. This rule is an RRCA regulation!
