Joseph Hamburg Student Society 5k, 1-Mile Fun Walk and Cornhole Tournament

7:30-8:30am: Registration
9:00 am: 5K starts
1 Mile Fun Walk after conclusion of 5k. Dogs and Strollers are Welcome!!!
9:30am: Cornhole Tournament starts. Awards at the conclusion of the events.

Fees include event t-shirt and lunch.

5K Age Brackets: 13 and under, 14-16, 17-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, >70

* Awards will be given to winners of each age bracket, the top three overall women and the top three overall men for the 5K.
* Awards will be given to the winning cornhole team.

Physician Assistants
The physician assistant functions under the supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician and has the knowledge to elicit a comprehensive health history, perform physical examinations, interpret and evaluate diagnostic data, establish basic treatment plans, counsel and educate patients, respond to commonly encountered emergency care situations, and prescribe medication.
Physician assistants serve in a variety of clinical settings, such as primary care practices, geriatric long-term care facilities, hospitals, correctional institutions and community-based clinics. Program graduates also are competitive for positions in clinical research, health care administration and higher education.

JHSS Purpose
The purpose of the society is to provide a framework in which to perform while in the Physician Assistant Studies Program. The ambition within this framework is to help formulate academic achievement and clinic excellence in the Physician Assistant student by involving the student in the educational process while establishing the Physician Assistant as a competent health professional.

The Lexington Dream Factory
Part of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Lexington Dream Factory. Lexington Dream Factory grants dreams to children who
have been diagnosed with critical or chronic illnesses. It is basically like Make-a-Wish except that everyone associated with the charity is a volunteer and 90% of the funds raised go directly to fulfilling dreams.
