Wildlife Prairie State Park Ice Fishing Rules |
Sportsmanship - ALL participants will exercise good sportsmanship at all times while at the tournament. Violators will be subject to loss of registration fee and disqualification.
Boundaries - All tournament eligible fish must be caught in Lake Taylor at WPSP.
The entire 10 acre lake will be open for tournament fishing.
Bait & Tackle - There will be no restrictions except those prohibited by law.
No more than 2 devices attended at all times or clearly marked w/ name and info. Spears and the spearing of fish are not allowed.
Weigh-in - officially begins at 12:00 noon. All fish being presented for tournament consideration must be at the official weigh-in station no later than 1:30. All prospective participants failing to meet this requirement forfeit eligibility of those fish. The registration fee is non-refundable. In the unlikely event of a tie, fish length as well as the time of weigh-in will be considered. All judgments by the tournament directors are final. All fish must be caught on the specific tournament date and between the official times as set by the tournament director. The weigh-in officials reserve the right to fully inspect each fish both externally and internally. Any fish found containing unnatural sources will be declared ineligible and those presenting the fish(es) may be disqualified and their registration fee forfeit, as seen fit by the weigh-in officials.
To Bring: Augers and ice chisels will be allowed since holes will not be pre-drilled. Also allowed are heaters, chairs, bait pails, shelters & depth finders. Bring money for our raffles as well as for food and beverages at the concession area. Make sure to bring your fishing license, it will be requested at check-in. Anyone over the age of 15 unable to produce their current Illinois Fishing license will be unable to participate. Registration fee is non-refundable.
Don't Bring: Alcohol, or non-bait coolers. Beer will be available at the concession.
Any angler may be disqualified at any time for any violation of applicable laws, tourney rules, or safety issues.
