About The Event |
The Tulsa Area United Way (TAUW) is pleased to present the 2010 Trailblazer 5km Run and Block Party. This exciting event will be held on Friday evening, August 13, 2010 at Centennial Park in Tulsa, and will include a timed 5km run, a one mile fun run, and a huge block party with live music, food and fun. New race walkers category added this year! Wear your OU, OSU or TU school colors to support the start of the school year. The most spirited fan wins a prize!
Proceeds benefit the TAUW and partner agencies.

About The Course |
The 2010 Trailblazer 5km Run will be contested on a USATF certified course and is a USATF sanctioned event.
The course begins on 6th Street just east of downtown Tulsa near Centennial Park. The 5km course is a scenic and interesting loop through downtown Tulsa, with a finish location at Centennial Park.
The 5 km race will be electronically timed. You must wear a timing device in the event in order to be in the results. Timing devices will be distributed on race day near the registration area. The Fun Run is not timed.

Awards
The following categories will receive awards:
- Overall male and female
- Standard age group runners (first 3 finishers)
- Race Walkers - Top (3) Men and Women
- All entrants will receive a commemorative Trailblazer 5km t-shirt
Timing
The 5k run will be timed using electronic timing.
All runners and walkers entered in the 5km run will need to wear a timing device on their shoe in order to receive a time and finish result.
Timing devices will be distributed on race day at the timing-tag pick-up table which will be located next to the registration area.
Timing Tag Collection:
After you finish the race, please return your timing tag in the finish chute.
Volunteers will be available to assist you with chip removal.
Runners who do not return their tags will be charged a $20 lost tag fee.

Online packets can be picked up Fleet Feet Sports beginning Tuesday, August 10 or on race day at Centennial Park.
