Beneficiary |
Proceeds from the Fleet Feet Sports Lady Distance Classic will directly support the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Cervical Cancer Prevention Project.
By supporting the Fleet Feet Sports Lady Distance Classic, you will be helping to fund a coordinated effort to educate the community about HPV vaccines that help prevent cervical cancer and to make those vaccines accessible to all women, especially those at highest risk for cervical cancer. As a result of your support, community health agencies will work together to expand their efforts to advocate for, educate and vaccinate as many women as possible.
HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection, with as many as 75 to 80 per cent of U.S. adults having been exposed to at least one type of HPV at some point in their lives. HPV can cause cervical cancer. In the United States, about 10,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer each year and about 3,700 women die each year from this disease. By providing your support to the Fleet Feet Sports Lady Distance Classic, we can help prevent the women and girls of Cincinnati from becoming one of these statistics.
