Splash, Flash & Dash Sprint Triathlon

Sunday, April 24th, 2005
9:00 AM time trial start. Participants will start every 5 seconds. The youth event will not start before 10:00 AM.

Carmel High School, 520 E Main St, Carmel, IN, 46032. Approach from Keystone. Selected roads to the west of the school will close early for the race.

Swim will be in the Carmel Aquatic Center pool. Transition area and finish will be in the parking lots directly north of the school. For parking, please enter Gate 1 of the stadium parking lot on the north side of Smokey Row.

Field is limited to 450 total athletes. Enter early! NOTE: There will be a late fee charged for entries received after April 8th. Race day registration will be allowed if the field is not full. However, you will be seeded at the end of the swim. Please don't wait to register!

Packet pick-up and expo will be in the Carmel High School Field House located on the north side of Carmel High School. Enter at door 17 on the north side of the school. Pick-up is from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 23. A special pre-race meeting will be held at 2:00 for first-timers during packet pick-up.

In addition, there will be packet pick-up from 7:00 AM to 8:15 AM on race day.

Individual Adult Entry
$50.00 (includes t-shirt) through April 8th

Individual Youth & Student Entry (valid student ID required at packet pick-up)
$35.00 (includes t-shirt) through April 8th
$40.00 (without t-shirt) after April 8th

Relay Teams
$150.00 (includes t-shirts) through April 8th
$165.00 (without t-shirts) after April 8th

No transfers and no refunds.

All entry fees include the per person USA Triathlon mandatory insurance fee. If you are a USA Triathlon member, you may take $9.00 off the entry fee for adults or $3 off the entry fee for youths. (All relays are run on the adult course with adult entries).

The Carmel Splash, Flash and Dash Triathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. For more information on obtaining a USA Triathlon license, please see www.usatriathlon.org. All participants must follow USA Triathlon rules and regulations.

All USAT rules apply. All athletes are required to wear a SNELL or ANSI approved helmet. Notice: To develop the sport of traithlon, flotation devices may be worn during the swim, however, you will not be eligible for awards.

Awards will be presented in the following categories:

First-Timers
Individual age-group awards for males and females competing in their first triathlon. Must be declared on registration.

Experienced Triathletes
(have competed in at least one triathlon) Individual age-group awards for males and females.

Athena
(women over 150 lbs) One category for women of all ages.

Clydesdale
(men over 200 lbs) One category for men of all ages.

Relays
Male, female, and co-ed teams of 2 or 3.

For male and female, individual:

Youth: 9-10, 11-12, 13-14
Adult: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29 and on in 5-year increments to 70 and over

The pool and time trial start mean that you won't have to fight the crowds of a traditional mass start. There is no open water swimming. Lane lines will help you swim straight. You are permitted to wear flotation devices, but if you do, you will not be eligible for awards. For the bike, this triathlon is a no-drafting event. You will have your own space on our traffic-controlled/closed route, while other bikers keep their distance. And, there's no mid-summer heat on the run! There's no better first-time opportunity!
