Friends of the W&OD 10K

Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 6:30 PM.

Flat, fast and scenic course on W&OD Trail at Old Vienna Station and Caboose, from Ayr Hill to Hunter Mill Road and back. On the W&OD Trail, always stay to the right for safety. The trail is open to other users, including bicycles.

Post-race music and refreshments sponsored by Whole Foods Market of Vienna.

$1,000 in cash prizes for top 3 Male and Female:

$250 for 1st.
$150 for 2nd.
$100 for 3rd.

Gift certificates from PACERS for top 3 in each 10-year age group - Limited to first 250 entrants.

Saturday, July 26, 2-5 pm (Race Day) at the College of the Environment GREEN UNIVERSITY.

Race day registration will be $45.

This is the DC area's GREEN race. We educate & reduce / recycle all waste. We host a Green University College of the Environment with guest speakers before the race; our t-shirts are printed using a non-polluting fusion process, rather than traditional screen printing; we recycle our race-day wastes; and we plant trees to provide shade, beautify the trail, and absorb CO2.

Friends of the W&OD Trail
The Friends of the Washington and Old Dominion Trail (FOWOD) is a non-profit citizens organization dedicated to the preservation, enhancement and promotion of a unique recreational resource in northern Virginia: the W&OD trail, a 45-mile multi-use rail-trail that is owned and operated by the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority.
