Candlelit Night Hike |
Saturday, January 27th, 7:00PM @ Swiss Valley Nature Center
Come and discover the wonders of the nighttime forest on a naturalist led hike through the preserve. The trail will be lit by moonlight and candles. So pull on your winter boots, hats, and gloves and join us. If you would like to rent a pair of snowshoes for the hike the cost is $5/pair.
Snowshoe size options are: Youth, Adult 25", Adult 30"

Dubuque County Conservation invites you to create a team to participate in the Nature Trivia Bee Fundraiser on February 22rd at 7:00 PM! Teams are open to adults. Cost $40 per trivia team (up to 4 people).
Proceeds go towards Friends of Swiss Valley, a non-profit that funds outdoor & educational experiences.
Spectators of all ages are free of cost, though donations are welcomed. This friendly group competition will pit you against other teams to test your knowledge of the natural world.
Questions will cover a variety of topics including reptiles and amphibians, birds, mammals, weather, geology, and more!
Participants work together with their team to answer questions and those with the most correct answers at the end of the night will be crowned Swiss Valley Nature Trivia 2018 champions! The winning team will also receive bottles of real maple syrup, made right here at the Swiss Valley Preserve!
We encourage businesses, organizations, educators, community groups, and the public to form a team to showcase their pride!
