Event Schedule:

11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Registration

11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.: Food (BBQ, ice cream & more), music, kids' games, "Not So Level" wheelchair course, recreational and disability services information booths, disAbility Awareness Cache Hunt preparation, team gathering and spirit building.

12:30 p.m.: Performance by Sounds of Silence, the community's American Sign Language Choir

12:45 p.m.: Line up for walk

1 p.m.: Walk begins. While walking search for the dRC's disAbility Awareness Cache Hunt sites (similar to Geocaching) along the trail using your mobile phone. Clues and information will be provided at check-in.

Enjoy the fresh air, fun, music, activities and food before and after the walk with families, friends, neighbors, and colleagues .

Dogs welcome! Bring your 4-legged friend to join you on the trail. Dogs must not be aggressive and should be on a leash. Don't forget the doggie bags.

Activities: Kids' games, "Not So Level" wheelchair course, disAbility Awareness Cache Hunt around the canal path, community information booths, music and dancing, snacks and lunch.

Teams: Create a team! There is no size requirement. A team can be a dynamic duo, the whole family, or a group of friends or co-workers.

Have people support your efforts and the dRC by making a contribution to you and your team. All they have to do is link to the DONATE or SUPPORT A TEAM button.

Got team spirit! Create banners and decorate wheelchairs, bikes, scooters, your four-legged friends, etc.

Create an awareness of disabilities for the general public.

Raise awareness of recreational and inclusive, opportunities for people with disabilities in the greater Fredericksburg area.

Raise funds for the disAbility Resource Center, the only organization in the area to support people with any and all disabilities of all ages.

Located in Fredericksburg, VA, and celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the dRC, is a non-profit organization that helps people with disabilities to live as independently as possible in their own homes and communities. While some people may need the help of an aide, technology, paid providers or natural supports (families, neighbors, friends, etc.), they can still live in their home and community and have a choice about what happens in their lives. The Center is a strong advocate for accessible, inclusive communities.

The dRC serves people with disabilities of all kinds and of all ages in the city of Fredericksburg and Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford counties. It also provides outreach to the Culpeper area and the lower half of Virginia's Planning District 9 and Deaf & Hard of Hearing services in PD9 and the Northern Neck.
