About the Event |
Beat Beethoven and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra in a live performance of the immortal 5th Symphony. Serious and recreational runners and walkers will want to get in on the Beethoven 5k Run that opens this unique concert and workout. The race will start with the famous opening four note motif of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. The trick is to beat Beethoven and the KSO through picturesque Devou Park (Covington, KY) and back to the bandshell before the final note. After the race and the awards ceremony, stick around and join area fitness instructors as they test everyone’s metal in a boot camp workout dubbed “Sweatin’ to the Symphony.” The KSO’s non-stop grouping of17 well-known classics offers works by Bizet, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Rossini, Brahms and many more. For more on the free concert performance / fitness event “Fit as a Fiddle” (part of Covington’s Healthy Outdoor Weekend), visit the KSO at www.kyso.org
