ANNOUNCEMENTS: Angel Ridge Animal Rescue of 2016 is back -- now called ROAR!
(That is, Race On! Animal Rescue.) For those of you who toughed it out in our first event, we've listened to your feedback. This year, we have:
. More volunteers
. More signage
. An adapted course
Online registration is open from now until August 17, 2017. At that point, you can still register on race day!
Just show up and you can register between 7:30 and 8:30 AM on Race Day August 19!
The cost is $30.00 - bring cash or check.
For all participants - the easiest thing to plug into your GPS is: the intersection of Corrigan Drive at Brownsville Rd. There's a parking lot right there, too. Our registration tables will be in Exhibit building number 4 at the south end of the Oval.

Information to help you have a great race day:

1. Parking for the race is available in the lot at the intersection of Corrigan and Brownsville. Registration and check-in will be located in Exhibit building no. 4, just past the south end of the parking lot and fairgrounds.
2. Maps for both the 5K and 10K courses are available! *For those of you who ran the 10K or 5K last year, have a look because the courses have been modified. They will now be more "runner-friendly" for an August day.

*We used Google's My Maps to create these estimated visualizations, but please note that we have used digital tracking to refine the actual course run for accuracy. Updated instructions are below:
10K

. Start line will be at the "mouth" of the oval track. Runners will make one lap (0.5 miles)
. Runners will exit the track and take the access road through the Universal playground parking lot to the paved pathway to the Montour Trail Connector. (0.453)
. Runners will continue uphill toward the MT Connector (0.118)
. Runners will run the MT connector trail, turn around at the turnaround point (2.60)
. From the turnaround, runners will go all the way back to the oval track and complete one more lap to FINISH (6.2)

. Start line will be at the exit of the oval track.
. Runners will take the access road through the Universal playground parking lot to the paved pathway to the Montour Trail Connector. (0.453 miles)
. Runners will continue uphill toward the MT Connector (0.57)
. Runners will run the MT Connector and turnaround 0.72 miles in. (1.3 miles total to the turnaround)
. Runners will then proceed all the way back to the Oval (2.6).
. Runners will then complete 1 lap around the oval to FINISH (3.1)

4. RACE SURFACE. The surface of the course is part road and part packed gravel trail- fine in road shoes- no different than running on asphalt roads with gravel, really. The trail portion was constructed for walking, running or biking and has no mud sections or tree roots. There are no steep hills in the course but some rolling upgrades and downgrades will add to the course's challenge levels. So based on this description you can assess whether you prefer road shoes or trail shoes.
