About the Event |
The 12th annual Carmel Sprint Triathlon, hosted by Carmel Swim Club, is the ideal sprint distance triathlon for both beginners and experienced triathletes looking to have fun and tune-up for the season ahead! The atmosphere of this event is youth friendly and provides a great opportunity to introduce kids to the sport of triathlon.
Carmel Swim Club is a USA Swimming Gold Club. All proceeds from the event support the development of youth athletes in this nationally-recognized program.

This event has a limit of 1,000 people total. If this limit is not reached before the event weekend, we will allow on-site registration on Saturday at Packet Pick-up from 1:00pm -4:00pm, at Carmel High School.

Youth Triathlon |
Youth, ages 6 to 15, are welcome to compete in the short-course event! Ages 6 to 9 will do a 200 meter swim and ages 10 to 15 will do a 300 meter swim. All youth age groups will compete in a 3 mile bike and 1 mile run.
Age groups are as follows: 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15
Youths will compete as the age that they will be at end of the 2017. Ex. If a youth participant is 15 on raceday, but will be 16 before December 31, 2017, they must compete in the adult division.

The Awards Ceremony will be held around 12:00pm. Awards will be presented in the following formats to both individuals and teams.

Adult Triathlon

The Swim |
The swim portion of the triathlon will be held in the state-of-the-art, 50 meter pool. Race start is time-trial style in 5 second intervals. Racers are organized into "flights" which are seeded by self-reported 100 meter swim times. Flights are organized and staged in gymnasium to reduce on deck waiting.

Swim warm-up starts at 7:30am
The Bike |
The bike portions are held outside in the scenic heart of Carmel. The bike course is flat and fast, with a minimal amount of turns.

- Youth: 3 miles
The Run |
The run course is mostly flat and travels through the neighborhoods adjacent to Carmel High School and the Carmel Arts and Design districts.

Location - Endurance House (Fishers)
Time - 11:00am - 12:00pm
Join the team at Endurance House Fishers on April 1 at 11AM as they discuss how YOU can accomplish a smooth and efficient transition - and feel confident in the Carmel Sprint Triathlon! They will be touching on how you can successfully coordinate your hydration/nutrition during the race based on your individual needs!
Topics Will Include:
- Setting up your transition area
- What to do before, during, and after T1 (swim to bike) andT2 (bike to run)
- Tips for more efficient transitions
- Nutrition for Race Day
- Hydration for Race Day

Refund Policy |
Event may be cancelled, delayed or reformatted due to weather, water conditions, or other emergencies. Refunds are ONLY given for the following exceptions
. Volunteering for event
. Serious medical problem
. Military service
. Funeral, etc.
If one of the above pertains, the following refunds may be provided*:
- Refund, minus $10 if notified at least one week in advance
- Refund, minus $15.00 if notified within one week of the event
- Refund of 50% of entry fee if notified after completion of the event
Participant may pay a transfer fee to another event OR another person**:
- $10.00 if notified at least one week in advance
- $15.00 if notified the week of the event
