Flood the Run is organized by and will benefit Matthew 25 and The Salvation Army.

Matthew 25 is an independent, local nonprofit organization that exists to strengthen core neighborhoods on the west side of Cedar Rapids and to provide opportunities for people to act on their values through service.The organization partners with others to work in three program areas: Neighborhood Building, Youth Empowerment, and Cultivate Hope.

The Salvation Army, through its many programs and services, seeks to meet the immediate concerns and issues of individuals in crisis by providing for the most basic human needs: food, clothing, safe housing, second chances and the opportunity to prosper.

Matthew 25 and The Salvation Army of Cedar Rapids have joined forces to raise money for local families in need by organizing a fun, family-focused event called Flood the Run. Flood the Run was formerly known as Run the Flood which held its fifth and final run in June 2013. In 2014 the event was transformed into a wet and wild water-themed family run/walk.

Our second annual event will be even better. Look for some of the same obstacles and some new ones; including water balloons, water guns, a human car wash, a water slide and more!

Volunteers
The event can't happen without the help of volunteers. Race organizers need help with packet pick up, course safety, set up, clean up and much more! Please visit the event website for full details regarding volunteer opportunities.

A shirt is available through July 23rd on Step 2 of the registration process.
