Van Buren Popcorn Festival Kernel Klassic 5K & 1Mile Fun Run

Originating in 1987, the objective was to encourage participation in a healthy activity while promoting the Van Buren Popcorn Festival. The Kernel Klassic has experienced increased attendance since the first event. The Van Buren Popcorn Festival Committee who volunteer to conduct the event appreciate your involvement and look forward to seeing you again this year!

Starting line is located on Indiana State Road 5 in front of the Van Buren Library.

The course is well marked and the surface is flat and paved. We ensure your safety with traffic control and water stations. The finish line is in front of the Popcorn Festival Grandstand where there will be fruit and drinks available to all participants.

5K RUN / WALK:

• Given to the overall first place male and female runners and first place masters (40 and over) male and female finishers
  
• Given to the oldest male and female finishers
  
• Presented to the top three finishers for the male and female 5K walkers
  
• The first 200 registered and paid 5K Run / Walk participants will receive a free t-shirt
