Course |
Run with five-time 800 meter U.S. Champion, two-time Olympian and Springfield resident Nick Symmonds as the only "straight 800" meter road race returns to Springfield Oregon on September 26.
The Annual "Nick Symmonds Springfield 800" will take over 5th Street in the historic Washburne District in Downtown. Join Nick, other elite athletes and community members from Springfield and Eugene for this all new road race and community party.
How fast can you go?
Unlike a typical 800 meter race- which is two laps around an Olympic track, runners of all levels will be able to test themselves on a straight road course with no turns. Everyone can participate in the 800 - which is about a half-mile! Several waves of skill levels will be available and all runners will be chip timed for the most accurate 800 possible.
Again, this race will be sanctioned by the USATF. Check out our video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgAYppXPakQ
The 800 meter road race will take place on 5th Street, between Centennial Blvd and A Street.
