About the Event |
Jase was diagnosed with Galactosemia at 6 days old, after being labeled failing to thrive. Galactosemia is a rare, genetic disorder that affects an individual's ability to metabolize galactose. Jase will be on a very strict galactose-free diet his entire life. He currently suffers from growth issues and speech apraxia, both side affects of Galactosemia.
The money raised from this event will go to further research on a medication for Galactosemics. Currently there is no medication and no cure for this disorder.
