Registration for this event will close on Thursday, September 18, 2014 @ 10:00. The event has reached capacity. Anyone registering after 8/30/2014 is not guaranteed a t-shirt or goodie bag as stated earlier. Groupon coupons must register online. There are no more t-shirts or goodie bags available, but the race is going to be a blast!

5K Chip-Timed Run:
$30 through 11:59 pm, Friday, August 22nd
$35 through Thursday, September 18th
$40 on race day

Family Fun Run 1K:
$15 through 11:59 pm, Friday, August 22nd
$20 through Thursday, September 18th
$25 on race day

Only participants who pre-registered by midnight on Saturday, August 30, 2014, are guaranteed a T-shirt. T-shirts for race-day registrants will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sizes are Adult S-XXL only, no kids sizing available.

Disposable timing tags will be used at this event. You must wear a tag to be timed and eligible for awards. Age group awards will be determined by tag time.

5K Chip-Timed Run:
1st place overall male & female - $150 cash and a world's largest box of nerds
2nd place overall male & female - $100 cash and a world's largest box of nerds
3rd place overall male & female - $50 cash and a world's largest box of nerds
1st place masters male & female - $50 cash and a world's largest box of nerds

Top 3 male/female finishers in the following age groups:
8 & under, 9-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-24, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 70-and over.

Family Fun Run 1K:
Awards will be given to the 1st-3rd place overall male and female finishers

Packet Pickup will be at Dick's Sporting Goods in Rockwall on Friday, September 19, 2014, between 4 p.m. & 7 p.m.

Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta presents a Nerdalicious good time. Our 5k route takes a winding path along Lake Ray Hubbard and the Harbor. We are offering you sweet treats to keep you going throughout the 5k. Yes, there will still be water stations, but for those of you with a sweet tooth, you can also get a quick sugar fix with a handful of Nerd candies at each refuel station along the way! For those who worry about fat and calories-surprisingly, Nerds aren't all that fattening-(aside from the sugar that is). A tablespoon of nerds has only 60 calories; you'll burn twice that walking back to your car! Enjoy a family friendly three mile course with your friends, family, and other nerd-aholic strangers. Doesn't matter how fast or old you are; everyone is welcome to participate and join in the fun!
After the Race:
When you're done running, we'll be still partying and filling up with delicious candy nuggets! You are invited to hangout and party to the music and have some more (or your first) Nerds on us! Family and friends are always encouraged to join in the party at the end!

When I register for Running of the Nerds 5K, what do I get?
We're glad you asked, because we've got some awesome goodies for this sugary race. You're packet will have a race number, Running with the Nerds race shirt, an adorable plush Nerd baby, fun Nerd backpack, sponsor goodies, and most importantly a supply of Nerds to sugar fuel your run! And, don't forget, the sweetest 5K experience of your life. Seriously.

Can my friend pick up my packet?
Yes! But we can't promise you that your delicious, tangy, crunchy bits of sugar heaven will make to you.

Are costumes allowed??
If you're so inclined, don your Nerdy attire, pay homage to the Oompa Loompas, or throw on your favorite tutus, costumes, and crazy socks! Angel wings work well, too!! Just keep it rated G!!

Can kids race?
You betcha! Kids are welcome�running, walking, in strollers, riding a pony. Ok, NOT actually riding a pony! But you get the point. We love kids and want kids and families to participate in this fun event together!

Is the race timed?
Well, yes. But, we are doing this for FUN! It's gonna be sweet, its gonna be sugary and it's gonna be COOL! Who wants to worry about personal best times and all that jazz during the sweetest race of your life?!? Just come have a blast with us!

Can my dog jog with me?
Sure, but even though our canine companions have sweet tooth's like their humans, they really shouldn't partake in the eating of the Nerds. Sorry, Fido, doctor's orders!

Can I do this if I've never run a 5K before?
ABSOLUTELY! You can walk, run, jog, roll (yeah, some of you CRAZY people will roll down the hills�we've seen it before!) or skip through the race course. So come on out with your friends to get nerdy! But make sure you save a little energy for the Rockwall Rubber Duck Regatta after the end of the race�.you won't be disappointed!

What if it rains...or snows?
Well, we HOPE it doesn't snow on September 20th! If there is icky weather, we will still have the race, unless there is a potential safety issue. Because of the cost of hosting the race, we cannot offer refunds...but you'd still get your snazzy goodie bag!

This year's 5K race will be electronically timed by Chip-2-Chip Race Timing using disposable chips. You may see your results after the race at www.chip2chipracetiming.com and www.dfwraces.com/results.
