Wipe Out Kids' Cancer Oktoberfest Run for the Children - Bob's Team

Thank you for coming to the BOB'S TEAM site. This is my twelfth year to be involved with the RUN FOR THE CHILDREN and every year is better than the one before. Before, during, and after every race I hear inspirational stories of children and adults who have overcome the odds and, today, are living cancer-free. The children are especially inspirational.

BOB'S TEAM is dedicated to the memory of a dear friend, Bob Simmons, who lost his battle to a rare stomach cancer. Though Bob died from cancer, he was never defeated by it. Bob battled courageously for exactly three years and a day. How would you or I live our lives if we knew we had only 1096 days to live? Bob inspired many with his courage, tenacity, and heart. Along the way, he showed us all how to love, be more transparent, and serve others.

Most everyone I know has, in one way or another, been affected by cancer. In August of 2013 my older brother, Tom, died from malignant melanomas that he battled for more than two years. My father, too, has battled a slow growing prostate cancer for over five years. Guess you could say this disease has hit home.
