Delta Gamma Center 20th Annual Run for Sight - Wyatt's Warriors

Friends and Family,

The Gehbauer family would like to thank you for participating in the Run for Site to help the Delta Gamma Center for Children with Visual Impairments. Wyatt was diagnosed with a visual impairment shortly after we brought him home from the hospital. Delta Gamma Center is a great resource for our family, most of Wyatt's therapists are affiliated with them. The Center provides us with limitless information and support as well as a great place to meet and play with similar families. This fundraiser is a great way for us to give back. As many of you know, Wyatt was born prematurely at 28 weeks. Shortly after birth we discovered he had suffered from a severe brain bleed that led to hydrocephalus (a buildup of cerebral spinal fluid in his skull) and the damage from the bleed led to his Cerebral Palsy. Many children with Cerebral Palsy, including Wyatt, also have a vision condition called Cortical Visual Impairment or CVI. This means Wyatt's vision impairment involves his brain and a difficulty interpreting what he sees. We also recently found out that he his incredibly near-sighted, so he has begun wearing glasses.

[*] Registration is $20 for adults and $10 for children under 12.
