Race Information |
This is the second annual George Wyth Mountain Bike Race. Even thought there were torrential downpours the morning of the race, causing start delays and unfavorable course conditions, last year's event still brought in 50 participants from around the state of Iowa.
This year's race is race #6 in the Iowa Mountain Bike Championship Series (IMBCS). The IMBCS is a cross-country mountain bike series that is sanctioned by the Iowa Off Road Cycling Association (IORCA). In 2013 the schedule will include events in various parts of the state, kicking off with the Sylvan Island Stampede on April 14 and ending with Lake Ahquabi State Park on October 6. In addition to each individual event offering it's own awards, the IORCA has a point system in place to reward our competitors at the end of the season in their respective categories. This allows riders to travel around the state and compete at different venues while earning points towards a series championship. They offer different levels of competition so everyone can get involved from the seasoned experienced rider to the first time rider to those riders who only compete for fun and socialization.
CVAST, the host of the George Wyth Mountain Bike Race, has chosen a variety of flights for all ages and skill levels. The 2013 race will include:
