What is Thanksgiving in July? |
Thanksgiving in July is a community-wide food drive that provides food assistance to the hungry. All funds from the Turkey Trot will benefit NLCP and local families. Thanksgiving in July was created fifteen years ago by Mercy Iowa City (Chef Ron Hall) and Hawkeye Foodservice Distribution in Tiffin. The six tons of food and funds collected the first year went to a local organization. Since then the food drive has continued to develop and expand. The 2013 food drive includes food pantries and
food relief agencies throughout Johnson County as well as other areas in Iowa.
Benefitting |
