Scheels Sports & Fitness Expo |
The Scheels Sports & Fitness Expo kicks off race weekend with athlete packet pick up and walk up race registration. The Expo also hosts the MidAmerican Speaker Series, the ABC5 Pasta Dinner featuring Above + Beyond Cancer, the Kids Run & Expo and more than 70 exhibitors from around the country.
Athletes will complete the IMT Des Moines Marathon registration process by picking up their race number/bib, IPICO Sportag timing device, athlete shirt and athlete souvenir bag.
The Scheels Sports & Fitness Expo is a family-friendly event that is free and open to the public.

The IMT Des Moines Marathon has partnered with Leslie Jordan to offer the finest in high-quality athletic apparel to each and every athlete in the IMT Des Moines Marathon races.
Marathon & Half Marathon
IMT Des Moines Marathon & Half Marathon athletes will receive the Leslie Jordan Milano 1/4 Zip Mock. This long sleeve pullover is 100% microfiber polyester, which features moisture management through chemical free, safe-wicking technology.
The Milano 1/4 Zip is available in men's and women's sizes S through XXL. Size Chart available on the Athlete Shirt page under the Register tab at desmoinesmarathon.com.
5K Road Race and Marathon Relay
Principal Financial Group 5K Road Race and Bankers Trust Marathon Relay athletes will receive the Leslie Jordan Soft Tech performance shirt. This high performance, long sleeve shirt is 100% microfiber polyester, which features moisture management through chemical free, safe-wicking technology.
The Soft Tech performance shirt is available in men's and women's sizes S through XXL. Size Chart available on the Athlete Shirt page under the Register tab at www.desmoinesmarathon.com/Register/Athlete_Shirts.htm.

Relay for Charity |
The IMT Des Moines Marathon and Bankers Trust have partnered together to support United Way of Central Iowa's healthy lifestyle choices.
All prize money from the Bankers Trust Marathon Relay will be administered by the Des Moines Community Foundation to nonprofit charity programs through the United Way of Central Iowa.
The top 4 teams in each race division have 3 options to choose from where their charity prize money can be donated to:
Teams can chose to donate to United Way of Central Iowa's Community Fund (which supports efforts in education, income and health), some 68 partner organizations (find a list of partner organizations by clicking this link www.unitedwaydm.org/partners), or eligible organizations (a health & human service organization that is a 5o1c3 and has a presence within and serves the people of the State of Iowa).
If the team picks an organization that ends up being ineligible for some reason, they will be contacted and asked to choose another organization.
The PE4Life program has been targeted and will be promoted as the primary United Way Community Fund program in 2013. The goal is to raise $2,000. Once that goal has been met, Community Fund contributions will go towards health initiative strategies. If a team selects a charity other than United Way, funds will go through United Way to that organization.
