Palo Duro Trail Run- 50 Mile - 50K - 20K Fun Run/Walk (A Western States Qualifier)

50 MILE: 7:00 AM start (12 hour time limit)
50K: 7:00 AM start (12 hour time limit)
20K 7:20 AM start (20K SOLD OUT)

Entry fees include pre race pasta meal free to runners (add $13 per guest), T shirt to all starters
and post race hamburger cookout with beans, chips, and soft drinks, etc., free to all runners and
guests. The 20K race will be limited to the first 300 entrants.

The weather is unpredictable. Come prepared.
Temperatures can range from below freezing to mid 90's. Sunrise: 7:58 AM Sunset: 7:06 PM

Start / finish in Juniper Picnic area approximately 6 miles in State Park from Park entrance gate. Palo Duro State Park is located approximately 25 miles South of Amarillo. From Amarillo, take I-27 south.

Exit State Hwy. 217 (exit #106) Turn East (left). Participant entering the Park between 6am and 8am on race day will not be charge an entrance fee. Spectators and guests will only pay $2 each during those hours.

Driving time from Amarillo to start area is approximately
45 minutes. Please allow plenty of time to arrive safely.

The course is 99% dirt trails on floor of Palo Duro Canyon State Park. 50 mile - four 12.5 mile loops.
50K - one 6 mile loop and two 12.5 mile loops, 20K one 12.5 mile loop.
No pets allowed on course or at start / finish area.

Five well stocked aid stations. Water, Gatorade, Coke and a wide variety of food and snacks.
Water-bottle recommended. Easy crew access, but handler not needed. Ice will be available at front four aid stations.

Pre-race pasta meal, race day info and packet pickup at W.T.A.M.U. Student Dining Hall, alumni banquet facility.

Pre race pasta dinner is 6:00 to 7:00 PM and packet pick-up is 5:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, October 19th at the banquet facility located at the corner of Russell Long Blvd and 26th Street, Canyon,TX.

Available in Palo Duro Canyon State Park.
We recommend Mesquite camp area.
Hot showers are available.
Bring your own soap and towels.
