Great North Run

The Great North Run is a 5K Walk/Run through the North Central High School campus. The event features a pancake breakfast and fitness fair. All events will be accessible for strollers and wheelchairs.

The race will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006, rain or shine, starting at 9:00 AM at Door #1 of North Central High School (1801 East 86th St.). Free parking is available on the east and west sides of the building.

The 5K Walk/Run is open to all walkers and runners. Elementary school children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

NEW this year, the Foundation is offering $500 to each school and JELCC AND up to three $1000 awards. Each PRE-REGISTERED runner or walker may designate ONE SCHOOL on the entry form to be eligible. Elementary and middle schools which have a minimum of 100 pre-registered participants will get $500 AND are also eligible to win a $1000 prize! North Central High School must have a minimum of 200 pre-registered participants to be eligible. The winning schools will be announced during the pancake breakfast.

Pre-registered runners and walkers will be able to pick up packets on Friday, November 10, between 3:00 PM and 6:30 PM, and Saturday, November 11 between 7:30 AM and 8:45 AM, at North Central High School.

Walk-in registration will be available on Saturday, between 7:30 AM and 8:45 AM. Walk-in registration will be $20 for all adults and $10 for MSDWT students.

The Washington Township Schools Foundation benefits all students in our District by making grants to teachers and parents for enrichment programs and extra-curricular activities. Last year we awarded nearly $270,000 for program support in the District. Race arrangements will be handled by Marty Day of Runners' Forum, one of central Indiana's premiere race promoters.
