1. Is this race on foot or by car? It is all done on foot along the waterfront/downtown area.
2. How do I sign up a team if they are more or less that 4 people? Everyone registers individually, and then when you check in, you will check in with your team and we will make sure your are grouped together as a team.
3. How big can the teams be? Teams can be as big as you want them to be, but must be 2 or more people.
4. Are there discounts? There is a discount when you sign up a team of 4 at one time. $65 for 4 people.
5. Can a really young or older person do this race? Yes, the race and it's clues and challenges are designed for people of all ages. Strollers are okay.
6. Do I have to run in order to do this race? No, this is a scavenger hunt, you can do it at your own pace. If you are competitive and want to win the prize baskets, moving quicker will help, but you can also do the race at your pace and just enjoy the sites and cool things around Port Orchard.
7. Do I get a t-shirt for participating in the race? All those who register on or before May 31st will be given a FREE t-shirt.
8. What do I need for the race? Your team will need a cell phone that can take photos and videos or a digital camera. Most of the clues or challenges will require you to take pictures of your team at the clue location. It is also recommended that you wear good walking shoes and bring water.
9. Are young families competing against other adults who are much faster? No, we will have a family division for teams with at least one child under the age of 16, and we will have an adult division where all team members are 16 years old or older.
10. What are in the prize baskets? The prize baskets are full of gift cards, vouchers, and prize items from local businesses.
11. What time does the race start? The race starts at 10am, but you can start checking in at 9am. We will hand out the clues and challenges at 9:40 so your team can start to plan their route.
12. How far do we have to walk or run? Well, this really depends on your route and the amount of backtracking you do. But all clues are found within a 1 mi radius in the downtown/waterfront area.
13. When will the prize baskets be awarded. We will award the prize baskets to the top 2 winning teams in each division at 12:30pm
14. Do we have to sign up together to be on a team? No, if your group of friends wants to register. You can register yourself, and they can register themselves. Just be sure to communicate and check in together on the race day.
15. Where do we meet to check in for the race? Check in at the Gazebo by the grandstands area next to the Mary Ann Huntington Park on the waterfront of Port Orchard.
16. Do I have to pay for my toddler to join us? No, kids ages 6 and under are free. However, you will need to sign a waiver at the check-in table for all participants.
17. I'm so excited about this race, how can I spread the word? Share this event on Facebook, by word of mouth, at your school, church, club, etc.
18. Can we sign up the day of the race? Yes, but paying by credit card will not be available on the day of the race, so be sure to sign up ahead of time online.
