Do I have to be an NAHS alumni to participate? No. This is a community event and all are welcome to participate.

Can I walk? Yes. This event may be completed by walking or running.

What if it rains? The event will still be held if it rains on race day. However, if lightning is located nearby, the race will be delayed or cancelled. Unfortunately, should the race be cancelled, this is a non-refundable event.

If I cannot participate, will I be refunded? This race is a non-refundable event.

Who do I ask if I have a question? On race day, you will notice volunteers in red shirts throughout the course and located in *Shelter House #1*. If you have general questions, concerns, or a medical emergency, let one of these volunteers know immediately.

I’ve never participated in a 5k. How long will it take to complete? Every participant will walk or run at their own pace. We estimate that to walk the route will take close to one hour, while running the race should take 20-30 minutes.

Are strollers allowed? Strollers are allowed in this race, however, we ask that you be respectful of those runners/walkers around you to protect the safety of all participants. The course has several hills and there may be some wildlife interaction, so please participate at your own risk.

Can I bring my pet? Community park is pet-friendly, although we recommend to ensure the safety of all participants that pets remain off the race course.

How early should I arrive? If you already picked up your packet on Friday, August 11th, then we recommend arriving thirty minutes prior to the race. If you are picking up your packet the morning of the race, we ask that you arrive 45 minutes to an hour before the race begins.

Where should I park? There will be signs and volunteers to direct participants where to park before the race.

Are there restrooms? Yes, Sam Peden Community Park does have public restrooms.

Who does this event support? All of the proceeds from this event will benefit the New Albany High School Alumni Association. The NAHS Alumni Association proudly supports alumni through scholarships and other community events.
