About The Race |
Proceeds from the races benefit the Henderson Education Foundation.
Location and Driving Directions |
All races will start at the HISD football stadium located at Stadium Street and Ball Street in Henderson, TX.
From Kilgore:
Turn west on East Main. Turn south on South Main. Turn right on Sunset Avenue, and the stadium is located at the end of Sunset Avenue.
From Points South (Hwy 79/259):
Turn left on Jacksonville Drive/Business 79. Turn left on Sunset Avenue, and the stadium is located at the end of Sunset Avenue.
From Hwy 64: Exit Loop 571 S. Turn left on FM 13/ W Main. Turn right on S Evenside. Turn left on Richardson Dr. Directly past Henderson Middle School turn right on Ruby St, go one block, and turn right on Onto Boren St. The stadium is straight ahead.

Awards |
The first place male and female in both the 10K and 5K races will receive a $50 prize.
The top three racers in the 10 and under and 11 - 14 age brackets will receive a ribbon.
All racers 14 and under will receive a participation award.

The Henderson Education Foundation was established in 1998 to create support for the academic programs of HISD. The foundation supports the following:
Student Scholarships
The foundation awards the L.L. Hale Family Scholarship, established by Mr. James Hale in honor of his family. The scholarship provides four HHS graduates with $5,000 per
year for four years. To date, scholarships awarded total over
$800,000.
Teacher Grants
The foundation has awarded grants totaling over $450,000 to teachers and staff to be used toward innovative educational programs and projects.
Events
The foundation sponsors the annual Tradition of Excellence Banquet, which honors the top 10% of the HHS graduating class and each student's most influential teacher. To date, over 300 students have been honored.
