General Event Details

  • Super Sprint Adult Triathlon - 250 meter swim, 8 mile bike, and 2 mile run
  • Kids Tri (ages 8-10) - 50M swim, 1 mile bike, 1/2 mile run
  • Kids Tri (ages 11-13) -100M swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run
  • Adult wave will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Sidney Swimming Pool located at 519 Toledo St-Sidney NE
  • Kids event to immediately follow last adult. Must check in by 9:30am.
  • Please check in at the table directly in front of pool entrance to have your race ID markings placed.

Parking

Parking will be available at the Sidney Swimming Pool parking lot and the Cheyenne County Community Center parking lot - Please do not park along the street.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup will be from 5:30-6:30 pm Friday, July 31, at
Sidney Regional Medical Center, 645 Osage St-Sidney NE and at 6:30-7:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, at the Sidney Swimming Pool - Friday night pick up is encouraged

Rules

Bike:
1. A bike helmet must be worn at all times. The chinstrap must be buckled before mounting the bike and may not be unbuckled until the rider has dismounted the bike.
2. No drafting. Keep at least three bike lengths of clear space between you and the cyclist in front of you.
3. Stay in your lane on ALL turns. There are tight turns on the course that have been distinctly marked. It is your responsibility to stay in your bike lane at all times even if it requires you to slow down or dismount and walk your bike.
4. Absolutely no audio devices allowed on the biking portion of this course.
5. After riding your bike, you must return it to the same position on the bike rack it was in before riding.

Swim: You may use any swimming stroke. You may also choose to walk or jog in the water.

Hydration: Good hydration is critical for two-three days prior to the race. Plan ahead and pack water. There will be two water/Gatorade stations along the course. One will be located at the half way point of the run and the other at the halfway point of the bike. If you need additional nutrition during the race, please plan ahead and pack it.

Transition Area: The transition area is the paved road between the swimming pool and the tennis courts. All participants must return their bicycles to an upright position in the bike area. Glass containers are NOT allowed. No running or biking in the transition area. Participants must walk in order to decrease risk of injury for themselves and others.

Please Note: No pets, strollers, or other child carriers are allowed on the course.

Timing

Ankle chips will be provided at the start of the swim to each swimmer. They must be worn at the ankle the entire race. If you are part of a team, this ankle bracelet will need to be passed on to each team member and donned at the ankle. It is important it is worn correctly in order to ensure splits are retrieved accurately. Also, bibs will be provided. All individual participants and the "runner" on each team will need to wear it.
