Canal Race for Camp - Megan Parcell

Building our youth is a cause that is important to us. I am proud to be part of Flat Rock River YMCA Camp.

Campers of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds benefit from the positive role models and safe challenges that a week of resident camp has in abundance. Children make life-long friends, discover new activities and challenge themselves beyond their comfort zone to realize their full potential.

Camp is a safe environment for children to explore and try new things with the support of staff and friends to
encourage them along the way. We don’t turn any camper away due to parents’ inability to pay.

The following is a letter from a Flat Rock Summer Camp Scholarship recipient.

"I love it so much because it teaches me how to interact with different people. I hope I could go every year. The reason Flat Rock is important is because it helps kids have fun things to do over the summer. The first time I went I was scared. I am a very shy person, but the counselor helped me overcome my fear of meeting new people. The best part of Flat Rock is that they make everybody feel comfortable. Thank you for letting me come to camp.
