Sign up now for the 3x3 Adventure Series |
Sign up for three local adventure races and once and save! The series begins in Maquoketa, Iowa with the Timber City Adventure Race. The next race will be our very own Taming of the Slough on September 15. The series wraps up at the Annawan Canal Ambush. Each race includes kayaking, riding, and running. The winner will be determined by the racer with the fastest total time in all three races.
Race Details |
The first heat leaves the Bass Street YMCA (1701 1st Ave, Moline, IL 61265) at 8:00am on Sept 21. Packet Pick-up will be on Friday, Sept 20 at Bent River Brewing Company (1413 5th Ave, Moline, IL 61265) from 5:00-7:00pm on their back patio. The Taming of the Slough is an adventure triathlon including paddling, mountain biking, and running.
- Paddle a 2.25 mile loop in the Sylvan Slough.
- Bike 1.25 miles to Sylvan Island where you'll complete two 2-mile laps on the single track trails on the island, then return to the transition area. (6.5 miles total)
[*]Run 2 miles along Moline's riverfront.

Packet Pickup is Friday 9/20 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Bent River Brewing Co - Moline Brew House (The Patio), 1413 5th Ave, Moline, IL 61265.
Tune Up for Taming |
Come practice the course at Tune Up for Taming! We open the course for our racers on three Thursdays leading up to the race. This year’s Tune Ups will be on August 29, September 5, and September 12. See you there!
Tire Width Requirement |
Tamers must use bikes with tires that have a minimum width of 1.4 inches. This will be enforced whether the off-road trails are open or closed.
Canoe and Kayak rental is available |

Team Competition |
2-Person Team:
Consists of 2 members (start in canoe or kayak) who do all legs of the race.
Finish time is the average of both members' times.
3-Person Team:
Relay: Kayak, Bike, Run
Corporate Adventure Challenge (3-Person Team):
Relay: Kayak, Bike, Run. Traveling trophy to honor each year's winner. Corporate teams also eligible for team overall awards.
