About the Event

What: A 13 -week progressive in- person beginner friendly running program for ladies. (No virtual option)


For Whom: Walkers, beginning and returning runners and any female runner who wants to improve their running skills in a supportive group setting. More advanced female runners are welcome to attend and join the advanced tier.


Orientation: Date: Tuesday, June 2, 2026 6:00 p.m. at Peak Performance: This will include an overview of the program, an explanation of what to expect and a meet and great with leaders and other participants.

Program dates: Tuesday June 2, 2026 (orientation) through September 1, 2026 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peak Performance Cass Street. Optional Thursday nights 6 to 7pm Fleet Feet Aksarben with the No one left behind/ Fleet feet social run group.


Format: 3 Tiers depending on experience level. See attached explanation of each on registration form . Pick the one you want to sign up for during registration.


Base program (Level 1) is a combination of instruction, coaching, and run/ walk and running intervals using the Galloway Method of running training with a goal of getting to the 5 finishl ine by running or finding the run walk interval that works best for you at the end of the course. A practice 5k will take place the last day of class. Level 2 is for runners who are comfortable with their own interval and do not need much supervision. This level is a combination of instruction, coaching, and run/ walk and running intervals of your choice with a goal of getting to the 5k finish line by running or finding the run walk interval that works best for you. Level 3 is for advanced runners who want to run the entire time with other ladies.


Leadership: directed by Pam Car, a Level 2 RRCA certified adult distance running coach, RRCACertified youth performance running coach, and holds certification in coaching the Jeff Galloway Method of Running Training. She is also an RRCA certified race director. The leadership team also includes another RRCA certified coach and experienced volunteers.


Registration will open in February ON-LINE PREREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED You must be anOmaha Running Club member to attend and can join the ORC as part of your registration process. Prior to the start of the class all registrants will receive an e mail with further instructions and course materials.

Step into Running 2026 Divisions

Division 1: walkers, New runners program runners:
This division is for walkers, new runners and runners new to this program. This sectionincludes:

Strictly walkers and runners who need to walk to finish; will walk at the very back of the group. Goal to walk the allotted time assigned each week.

Extra steps runners: Runners who are brand new and need extra help to complete the program. Will run with someone or receive more individualized slower progression program

New runner program: Will do the weekly run/walk interval program progressing every week with the help of leaders

** This group will consist of about 10 0r 15 minutes of discussion on a running topic and then run/walk intervals and then meeting again at the end of class.


Division 2: Experienced interval runners doing their own preferred intervals:
This division is for runners who have either taken the class before and are comfortable doing their own run/ walk intervals and progression for the time allotted with minimal supervision during the course.

** This group will consist of about 10 0r 15 minutes of discussion on a running topic and then run/walk intervals and then meeting again at the end of class.


Division 3: Experienced runner who prefer to run the entire time
This group of experienced runners will meet separately at the allotted time and take off running the time allotted and distance determined by leaders/group. This group of advanced runners will run separately from Tier 1 and 2, during SIR, and run together the time/distance determined by leaders/group with a sweeper.

This group may occasionally get some advanced fundamentals techniques but will run atthe start of the lass and then return at the end
