Hello, my name is Isabella Lohr. I am a Guyer high school student and I am also an Ambassador Girl Scout currently working towards my Gold Award. My chosen leadership project is to create and organize an annual 5K run in honor of Dylan Dorrell.

My childhood friend, Dylan Dorrell, passed away suddenly on August 13, 2020. Dylan collapsed at a cross country practice and died at the hospital from an undetected heart condition. Dylan loved running and started doing 5Ks when he was little. His parents, Lisa and Gus, have started a non-profit organization, #runforDylan in his memory. Their main focus is to provide heart testing and CPR training to athletes. While one of these tests could not have saved Dylan, it could save someone else. I want to continue to share his story, build awareness and establish an annual 5K event for the #runforDylan foundation so they can provide these services with funding from the 5K run and other charitable contributions.

Race information

About the Event:
the #runforDylan 5K and 1 Mile fun run is designed for the whole family!!! The event will benefit the #runforDylan foundation whose main focus is to provide heart screening and CPR training to athletes by promoting Cardiac Arrest Awareness through scholarships and community outreach education.

The event will have food trucks, music, sponsor tables, face painting, raffles, Cardiac Arrest Awareness education and more.

Race Day Schedule & Information

Race Day 5K & Fun Run:

Race Day Registration : 7:30 a.m.
Fun Run: 8:30 a.m.
5K : 8:45 a.m.

*Prices will rise $5 on race day!!!

Registration includes Official race bib, *T-shirt, #runforDylan bracelet

Virtual/Sleep-in Runner:

-Participants can sign up to run or walk virtually from anywhere to show your support!
-Registration includes T-shirt and #runforDylan bracelet.

The following are the Award Categories:

Overall M & F
Master M & F
10 & Under, 11-13, 14-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.

Plaques will be given for Overall M/F any age and Master M/F over 40.

Race Awards will be presented following the 5K!

Packet Pickup

Packet Pickup will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 4:30 to 6:30 at Blanton Elementary School, 9501 Stacee Lane, Argyle, Texas 76226.

Parking for the Event

Parking for the Event will be at Harpool Middle School, 9601 Stacee Lane, Argyle, Texas.

Shirts

Registration received by 10/20/2021 at midnight, will receive an event T-Shirt. T-Shirts will be on a first-come, first-serve basis after this time! Register early and get the discounted price and guarantee a T-shirt!
