Dylan Dorrell passed away on August 13, 2020 due to a sudden cardiac episode while running at Cross Country practice. Efforts to revive him using CPR failed and there was no Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on hand.

Since that day, his family created the RunforDylan Foundation. The foundation focuses on providing heart screenings for athletes, CPR training for Teens and other community outreach projects. The first community outreach program that the foundation started was to put an AED at all city parks in Denton county. So far the foundation was able to install one at Southlakes Park in Denton, which was the park where Dylan was when he was taken from this world. Plans to install at Northlakes park in Denton are underway with more to come.

About the Event:
The #runforDylan 5K and 1 Mile fun run is designed for the whole family!!! The event will benefit the #runforDylan foundation whose main focus is to provide heart screening and CPR training to athletes by promoting Cardiac Arrest Awareness through scholarships and community outreach education.

The event will have food trucks, music, sponsor tables, face painting, raffles, Cardiac Arrest Awareness education and more.

Race Day 5K & Fun Run:
Race Day Registration : 7:30 a.m.
Fun Run: 8:30 a.m.
5K : 8:45 a.m.

*Prices will rise $5 on race day!!!

Registration includes Official race bib, *T-shirt, #runforDylan bracelet

Virtual/Sleep-in Runner:
- Participants can sign up to run or walk virtually from anywhere to show your support!
- Registration includes T-shirt and #runforDylan bracelet.

The following are the Award Categories:
Overall M & F
Master M & F
10 & Under, 11-13, 14-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over.

Plaques will be given for Overall M/F any age and Master M/F over 40.

Race Awards will be presented following the 5K!

Packet Pickup will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 4:30 to 6:30 at Blanton Elementary School, 9501 Stacee Lane, Argyle, Texas 76226.

Parking for the Event will be at Harpool Middle School, 9601 Stacee Lane, Argyle, Texas.

Registration received by 10/22/2022 at midnight, will receive an event T-Shirt.
T-Shirts will be on a first-come, first-serve basis after this time!
