Toddling Into Nature (Ages 3-4): Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Session1: June 9-10 (W-Th), 9:00am-11:00am
Session 2: July 26-27 (M-T), 9:00am-11:00 am
Come hangout with Mickey Mouse and his friends at their temporary clubhouse, Swiss Valley Nature Center, as they head off to explore. Find out what big adventure they will get into next. Adult must stay with child.
Cost: $10
Sapling Camp (Ages 5-6): Fairies and Gnomes
Session 1: June 14-15 (M-T), 9:00am-12:00pm
Session 2: July 28-29 (W-Th), 9:00am-12:00pm
Discover the secret life of fairies and gnomes. Search for fairy houses and gnome hideouts in enchanted forests and ponds. Uncover magical critters living in these places and learn how even the tiniest creatures guard nature’s hidden treasures.
Cost: $15
Maple Camp (Ages 7-9): Scooby Doo
Session 1: June 23-25 (M-W), 9:00am-2:00pm
Session 2: August 2-4 (M-W), 9:00am-2:00pm
Something mysterious has been going on at the Swiss Valley Nature Preserve. Scooby Doo and the gang needs your help to explore and solve the invasive species mysteries. Can you help us defeat these invaders?
Cost: $25
Nature Collectors Camp (Ages 6-8)
Session 1: July 15th (Th), 9:00 am-2:00 pm
Session 2: July 22nd (Th) 9:00 am-2:00 pm
Hunt and collect treasures from rocks, fossils, feathers, driftwood, acorns and more. Learn about nature collecting and the ethics involved in creating your own collection. Decorate a shoebox-sized cardboard box brought from home and keep the treasures you find.
Cost: $10
Oak Camp (Ages 10-14): Wild Edibles & Food Cycle
July 19-21 (M-W), 9:00am-2:00pm
Participate in harvesting, preparing, and cooking with wild edibles and turn them into a delicious meal. The cooking will occur at the educational kitchens at the Convivium Urban Farmstead. Then spend a day learning how to manage the waste that is left over at the Dubuque Landfill and Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Cost: $50
Explore Your River Camp (Ages 10-14)
Session 1: June 16-17 (W-Th), 8:00am-3:00pm
Session 2: June 30-July1 (W-Th), 8:00am-3:00pm
Join Naturalists on beginner friendly rivers as we kayak and have water fun! Learn kayak techniques and river navigation.
Cost: $50
Golf Camp (Ages 10-17)
Session 1: July 6-7 (T-W) 9:00 am-2:00 pm
Participate in golf activities including individual and group instruction, course play, skill challenge games, and more. We will also be building our own mini golf course. Activities take place at the Swiss Valley Nature Center and Fillmore Fairways Golf Course. Gear provided.
Cost: $50
Adventures at Heritage (Ages 10-14)
Session 1: July 8th (Th) 9:00am-2:00pm
Spend the day exploring at Heritage Trail. We will bike, kayak, and much more. Please pack a lunch and bring your own bike and helmet.
Cost: $15
Buzz like a Bee Camp (Ages 8-12)
Session 1: June 22-23 (T-W), 9:00am-2:00pm
Session 2: June 29-30 (M-T), 9:00 am-2:00 pm
The bees are a buzzing and the flowers are a blooming. Come be part of the hive, playing games and learning what it really means to be as busy as a bee. Talk to a real bee keeper, for a chance see a hive up close.
Cost: $50
Hunters Safety Camp (Ages 11+)
Session 1: July 6-8 (T-Th), 9:00am-2:00pm
Join Dubuque County Hunters Safety instructors and Conservation Officers from the Iowa DNR for a multi-day hunters safety experience. Participants gain extensive hands-on instruction on firearms, fishing, and many other outdoor skills including learning about camouflage, gun carrying techniques, shot sizes, decoys, archery, animal calls and more! Participants will shoot a .22 rifle and a 20-gauge shotgun. They will also earn their Iowa DNR Firearms Safety Certificate.

Roughen’ It Camp (Ages 13-15)
July 12-13th (M-T)
Have you ever wanted to sleep under the stars and cook your meals over a fire? Do you have basic camping skills or wish to learn them? If, so then this camp is a perfect fit for you! We will be canoeing down the Mississippi River and camping on the sand!
Cost: $40
