“Broken Toe” is a trail run/walk at scenic Stone State Park. The event is a 2-mile walk, 4-mile run/walk, or 8-mile run for individuals and families to promote health, fitness, and appreciation of natural resources in Siouxland. The 8-mile course is new for 2019, along with a 0.5-mile kids’ run for children under age 5 (no registration fee for 0.5-mile kids' run). Please note that because this is a trail race, course distances are approximate (see below). The 2-mile walk and the kid’s run will not be timed. Clock timing will be provided for the 4-mile and 8-mile courses. In the event of heavy rain, the race will be held on asphalt surface within the park. Alternate rain routes will be announced the day of the race.

Proceeds from the race benefit the Friends of Stone Park for park improvements.

Course distances (determined by GPS) are as follows:
Kids' Run: 0.5 mile
2-Mile Course: 2.4 miles
4-Mile Course: 3.8 miles
8-Mile Course: 8.2 miles

Refreshments will be available following the race at the start/finish area.

Schedule
8:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Check-In/Packet Pick-Up/Registration at Stone Park Pammel Shelter picnic area. Participants for the 0.5-mile kids' run should register during this time on the day of the race (no online registration for 0.5-mile kids' run).
9:15 AM: Kids' Run Starts
9:30 AM: 8-Mile Race Starts
10:00 AM: 2-Mile and 4-Mile Races Start
11:15 AM (approximately): Awards Ceremony

Early Packet Pick-Up
Early packet pickup will be available at Scheels (Southern Hills Mall) from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Friday, October 4. Packets may also be picked up the day of the race. Please allow extra time if picking up your packet on the day of the race.

Awards
There will be awards for the speedy and random prize drawings for the lucky. We will present age group awards in 10-year brackets for male and female participants of the 4-mile and 8-mile races.

Parking
There are limited parking spots in close proximity to the start/finish line. Please plan to arrive a little early. There will be volunteers directing you to the nearest parking area. Please do not park along the road unless directed to by a volunteer.

Weather
In the event of heavy rain, the race will take place on paved surfaces within the park. Courses will be announced on the day of the race

Other Information
All participants registering before 9-10-2019 will receive a long-sleeved shirt (adult sizes) or a short-sleeve shirt (youth sizes). We do not guarantee you will receive a shirt unless you have registered prior to this date, but we will order some extras to try to accommodate participants who miss the registration cutoff for a shirt.
