Broken Toe Trail Run/Walk

“Broken Toe” is a trail run/walk at scenic Stone State Park in northwest Sioux City, IA. The event is a run/walk for individuals and families to promote health, fitness, and appreciation of natural resources in Siouxland. Due to circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Broken Toe event will be held virtually this year.

Proceeds and donations from the virtual event benefit the Friends of Stone Park for park improvements. More information on our past, current, and future projects can be found by visiting the Friends of Stone Park on Facebook.

Course distances (determined by GPS) are as follows:
2-Mile Course: 2.4 miles
4-Mile Course: 3.8 miles
8-Mile Course: 8.2 miles

Maps of last year's courses will be posted to the Friends of Stone Park Facebook page for those who wish to use them, but participants may choose to run, walk, or hike their own route(s) of any distance.

Event Details

Since the Broken Toe event is being held virtually, participants are encouraged to complete their run or walk (or as many runs or walks as they want!) any time between signing up and October 3. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer shirts, medals, or other memorabilia this year. Participants and donors are encouraged to post pictures of themselves enjoying Stone State Park on the Friends of Stone Park and Missouri River Runners Facebook pages using the hashtag #StoneParkBrokenToe2020.
