About Paddle Williamstown

Enjoy Northern Kentucky's largest lake...safely! - Explore nearly 350 acres of calm, flat water paddling on Williamstown Lake as you pass by over 450 waterline properties that border the nearly 17 miles of shoreline. And during the hours of Paddle Williamstown, all powerboat traffic on Williamstown Lake will be restricted. Which means you can enjoy the beautiful scenery without having to worry about wake boarders, water skiers, tubers or jet skiers. You'll share the lake only with fellow kayakers and canoers.

Leisurely Paddling - Your registration gets you access to up to six full hours (7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) with nothing but still, flat water in front of you! No running water and no current means you can go where you want, when you want. Take your time and enjoy the many beautiful boathouses and docks that dot the shoreline, or take in Mother Nature's beauty shortly after sunrise and maybe spot a Blue Heron in the process. You might want to pack a camera!

Snack/Water Dock Stops - Don't worry about going hungry or thirsty while you're out paddling! We'll have several docks located around the lake that will be handing out snacks and ice-cold water to our participants. And the best part of it is...they're FREE to our registered paddlers! No need to sign up for anything extra...it's automatically included with your registration!

Options

Kayak and canoe rentals are available! - Don't have one of your own? Paddle Williamstown has made arrangements through Thaxton's Canoe Livery, Canoe Kentucky and Setter Ridge Outfitters to have a limited number of kayaks and canoes available to rent. These will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis with advanced registration only. (No on-site rentals will be available the day of event.) Single-seat kayaks are $20, while two-seat kayaks (tandems) and canoes are $25 to rent. Rental kayaks and canoes must be picked up by 10:00 a.m. that day, and must be returned by 12:45 p.m.

AGAIN THIS YEAR - Paddle Williamstown will have a limited number of standup paddleboards (SUP's) available for rent! Just like the kayak and canoes, an SUP rental will be $20, and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and ONLY with advanced registration.
Please note:We want everyone to enjoy themselves at Paddle Williamstown, and while traveling on an SUP can certainly be fun and exciting, it can also be taxing, both physically and mentally (due to the balancing required). Therefore, we are recommending SUP rentals to only those who have actually been on an SUP before, or those who will be in a group of paddlers (who are willing to share and switch out every now and then between the SUP and a kayak/canoe). If you rent an SUP and do not like it, you will not be able to "exchange" it for a kayak or canoe later on.

Scavenger Hunt - - Smilin' Myron and his family are back! Young and old enjoy participating in this activity and exploring the lake. As always it will remain a FREE event, but prizes will only be given to the children (ages 17 and below). If you'd like to participate, just sign up during the registration process, and we'll include a scorecard in your registration pack.

T-Shirts - Want a cool way to remember this year's event? Pick up a commemorative t-shirt. This year's color is Aquatic Blue. T-shirts come in a variety of sizes, from youth-small, to adult-3x. And they're just $10 each.

Additional Information

No shuttle fees! No parking fees! No launch fees! - Even on those so-called "free" paddles, you may end up getting nickel-and-dimed from these hidden costs. With your Paddle Williamstown registration, there will be no unseen fees! It's free parking and launching!

Support a cause in the process of paddling! - Proceeds from Paddle Williamstown will go to support the St. Elizabeth - Grant County Cancer Care. We're proud to announce that $3,750 has been donated to our local hospital over the first few years of our event! Way to go paddlers!

Paddle Concert: After the event, stick around at the Williamstown Marina, eat some pizza, and enjoy a free concert by the Caleb Hensley Band. The band will begin playing at 7:30 p.m., take a break for the fireworks at 9:30 p.m., and will resume playing music until midnight!

Fireworks The Williamstown Lake Association will be sponsoring the annual firework show which will begin at 9:30 p.m.
