Event Details |
Compete in three Adventure Triathlons this summer to prove you’re the best around. The Timber City Adventure Race is June 24, followed by Taming of the Slough September 16, and finally the Annawan Canal Ambush September 30. In each of these adventure triathlons you will be competing with others in kayaking, mountain biking, and cross country running. You must compete in all three races in order to win the 3x3 Cup. The Champion will be determined by the individual with the fastest combined time from the three races.
Timber City Adventure Race:
The race starts in Canton, IA, with an 8 mile kayak course down the Maquoketa River. Then comes a 14 mile road bike course featuring one of the steepest inclines in Jackson County. The race ends with a 3.1 mile run through the relatively flat city of Maquoketa.
Taming of the Slough:
The Taming of the Slough features a 3.8 mile paddle course around Campbell’s Island in the Mississippi River, followed by a 8.3 mile mountain bike ride through Illiniwek Forest Preserve, and finishes with a 2 mile run. All of the exchanges take place in Empire Park in East Moline.
Annawan Canal Ambush:
The Ambush starts with a 1.5 mile flat run, followed by a 6.7 mile flat paved bike course, and ends with a 1.8 mile paddle.
