Online registration is closed for the Carmel Race but you can register at Packet Pickup on either Wednesday at IU Health North Carmel from noon until 7:00pm or on race morning from 7:30-8:30am at the start area

Start a new FamilyTradition and do someone good for your heart, and maybe someone else's. Flock to Carmel this Thanksgiving and earn your turkey! Join us for a 3.1 mile run/walk on a beautiful USATF CERTIFIED course to benefit Bolt for the Heart for the placement of life saving AED's
(automated external defibrillators) in Central Indiana in an effort to save people who experience sudden cardiac arrest. Thanksgiving can challenge any routine, whether it be cooking, family events or travel.
The Bolt for the Heart 5K Run provides friends and family a chance to do something active before they start their traditional Thanksgiving celebration. Because we all have so much to be thankful for.

Q: How long is a 5k?
A: 5 kilometers = 3.1 miles
Q: Will there be race-day packet pickup?*
A: Yes. There will race-day packet pickup starting at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, however, we strongly encourage participants to pick up their packets on Wednesday (11/24) from 12-7pm at IU Health North - 11700 N Meridian St, Carmel, IN 46032
Q: Can a friend pick up my packet for me?
A: Yes
Q: Are strollers or dogs allowed?
A: Baby joggers/strollers are permitted. As the safety of all participants is our top priority, we ask that those with baby joggers/strollers start toward the back and priority everyone's safety over
finish time. Due to insurance restrictions, participants are not permitted to bring dogs on the route.
Q: What if it rains on race day?
A: Bolt for the Heart will take place rain or shine. Event will be cancelled only if absolutely necessary for the safety of participants, volunteers and event staff. In this case, there will be no refunds of race entry fees.
Q: Is there a bag check?
A: Absolutely. Gear Check will be available on race day and near the start line. Only one bag per runner please. Please do not leave valuables, cash, or jewelry in your gear bag.
Q: Will there be age group awards?
A: Yes, we will have results and awards for age group finishers in 5 year
divisions
Q: Can I wear headphones?
A: Yes, but we ask that you keep the volume down at a safe level so that you
can hear other runners or instructions from event personnel.
Q: Can I volunteer to help on event weekend?
A: Yes! There are volunteer positions for every type of person. It's also a great way for individuals, families, clubs, and other groups to get involved and start a holiday tradition! For students looking to earn community service hours, volunteering earns hours and a free shirt!
Q: Where can I look up the race results?*
A: We will post race results on onlineraceresults.com/ right after
the race.
Q: I am registered, but cannot participate. Can I transfer my registration/bib to someone else?
A: No, as noted in the application waiver, registrations/bibs are nontransferable and cannot be transferred from one person to another.
Q: I am entered in the race but recently incurred an injury and will be unable to compete. Can I defer my participation to next year?
A: No. We do not offer deferments or refunds.
