Join us for one of the oldest races in Indianapolis, the 37th Annual Polar Bear Presented by Franciscan CityWay! This historic race is strategically placed on the calendar on the third Saturday in February to help you gauge how your spring training is progressing. The race will once again offer a 5 Mile, 5K or the Bear. The Bear is the challenge that allows you to run both events, one after the other, for a total of 8.1 miles. Cash prizes and age group awards for all three distances! Age group awards will be distributed at the Finish Line. Cash prizes will be awarded at Metazoa during the Award Ceremonies.

The ultra fast course will take you to Fountain Square, then west to Meridian and back to CityWay. The 5 miler will take you north on Delaware to New York to East and back to the finish in front of CityWay. Packet Pickup and awards will be in the new Franciscan CityWay. The post party details are being finalized now. We hope you join us for the 37th Annual Polar Bear!

5K starts at 8:30 AM | 5M starts at 9:15 AM. Both events use the same start line.

Race Day/Packet Pickup Registration:
5K: $40
5 Mile: $45
The Bear (5M+5K): $50

4:00 - 6:30 PM on Friday, February 15th at Franciscan Health inside CityWay YMCA.

7:00 AM Race Morning at Franciscan CityWay.

* The top 3 male and female finishers in each age group: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

The Bear
Run the 5 Mile and the 5K

The top three male and female finishers will receive awards.

Note: If you are running the Bear, you can only accept one award. (i.e. you cannot win your age group in the 5K AND win your age group in the Bear. If you choose the Bear, then the second place finisher in the 5K age group would win.)
