Online Registration Closes Thursday, September 11th at 11:59pm.
Late Registration: You may still register on September 12th by calling River Action at (563) 322 - 2969 or stop by our office located at 822 E River Drive Davenport, IA from 8:30am - 4pm. You may also register at Packet Pickup Friday and at the race location Saturday morning.
Late registration fee is $20 and T-shirt not guaranteed.
Taming of the Slough is an adventure triathlon where racers paddle, mountain bike, and run in and along the Mississippi River and Sylvan Slough.Trophies are given to the first three finishers in each individual category, the first two finishers in each relay category, and the Corporate Challenge Winner. After the race we have a post-race party and awards ceremony with food and beverage provided.
Taming of the Slough
* All categories can participate.
* Meet at Bass Street YMCA at 1701 1st Ave. Moline, IL 61265
* Check in at 7:30 AM
* Race Start at 8:00 AM
* Paddle 2.5 miles in Sylvan Slough
* Mountain Bike to Sylvan Island, make TWO LAPS on the island, and come back to the YMCA. 7.5 miles total, 5 miles off-road.
* Run on the I-74 Bridge

Tune Up for Taming |
Come practice the course at Tune Up for Taming! We open the Taming of the Slough paddle and mountain bike courses for racers or the general public to get out and try the course. Tune Ups will be held September 4th and September 11th from 5:30-7:00 PM. Meet at the Bass Street YMCA - 1701 1st. Ave. Moline, IL. These are FREE events!

* If you have a racing kayak, please register in the Elite Registration. This will affect your starting position, racing kayaks are not
