You can still register in-person with either cash or Venmo, $25 for the 1-mile and $45 for the 5K, at pre-race packet pickup Nov 24-Nov 26 from 11am-6pm at The Natural Dog Pet Food Market (2431 Battleground Ave) & on race morning, Nov 27 from 6:30 AM until the 1-mile race starts at 8 AM.

We are excited to announce the Greensboro Gobbler 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, a Thanksgiving tradition for 24 years and the largest turkey trot in Greensboro, NC, is now under NEW OWNERSHIP! For more than two decades, the Gobbler has brought families, friends, and the Greensboro community together to kick off the holiday, and that legacy will continue with an even bigger festive spirit for runners and walkers of all ages.

We plan to not only preserve the event’s traditions but also introduce a number of new opportunities to make race day even more memorable. Plans are underway to expand the participant experience with fun enhancements on and off the course, while also adding a charitable component to give back to the local community. With fresh energy and a renewed commitment to impact, the Gobbler is set to grow as both a holiday tradition and a meaningful way to start Thanksgiving morning. We're pumped to see you this Thanksgiving for the 25th Anniversary of the Greensboro Gobbler and an unforgettable race day experience! RUN, EAT, NAP!

Welcome to the 25th Annual Greensboro Gobbler 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk! We're super excited to kick-off our 25th anniversary and can't wait to release this year's awesome shirts, closer to race day. Early registration is now open with the biggest savings we've ever offered (up to 33% off). All registrants of both the 5K and 1 mile run will receive a super-soft T-shirt included with their registration. Awards will be presented to the top finishers in each age group as well!

Race Morning

There will be packet pick up and in-person registration on race morning starting at 6:30 AM
8:00 AM: 1 mile walk/run starts
8:30 AM: 5K starts
There will be an awards ceremony immediately following the conclusion of the race.
The race is located at Center City Park in Greensboro, NC. Center City Park, located in the heart of downtown Greensboro, fills the block between North Elm and North Davie Streets and is bordered on the south by West Friendly Avenue and on the north by the Renaissance Tower office building.The Park’s main entrance is at 200 N Elm St, Greensboro, NC 27401

Packet Pickup

Pre-race packet pickup (Bib + T-Shirt): Monday, Nov 24-Wed, Nov 26 from 11am-6pm each day at The Natural Dog Pet Food Market at 2431 Battleground Ave, Greensboro, NC 27408.

Race Day packet pickup: Thursday, Nov 27 starting at 6:30am at registration area near start/finish line.

*You just need to provide your name at packet pickup. You can also pick up packets for friends and family as long as you have all the names in your group.

We're excited to raise money for Greensboro Urban Ministries and will also be accepting food donations! Please bring food donations to packet pickup and we'll have collection boxes waiting to be filled.

Custom Event Swag

All runners, including 5K runners and 1-mile fun run/walk will receive a custom super-soft long-sleeve T-shirt as long as they are registered by the shirt guarantee deadline of 10/20/2025. Anyone that registers online after that deadline it is not guaranteed they will receive a shirt or the shirt size they have selected. We always order additional shirts and will provide them to as many participants that registered after the deadline and if there are still leftovers, they will be available for sale at the event for $10 each.

Timing/Awards

The Greensboro Gobbler 5K is a chip-timed race. All 5K runners bibs have electronic chips in them to accurately track finish times. We ask that all 5K participants please wear their bibs with the race number on the front and completely visible. All awards will be based on chip time. 

Awards will be presented for the following categories: 
 - 5K – Top 3 overall male and female 
 - 5K – Top male and female in each age group
Age Groups: 18 and under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ 
Receiving Awards: Awards will be given out directly following the conclusion of the race. To accept or receive an award, you must be physically present following the race. 

Parking

There are multiple parking garages and street parking spots available near Center City Park, all located within 0.3 miles of Center City Park. (The previous lot on Davie Street was permanently closed as of 11/24/25)

2) Greene Street Parking Deck - 211 S Greene St - 0.3 miles away 

3) Church Street Deck - 215 N Church St - 0.3 miles away
