The Celebration Walk is a walking-only event for individuals and families who prefer a relaxed pace while supporting those impacted by cancer. The course will be approximately 1.4 miles. Participants must walk only. Running is not permitted on this course. Those wishing to run will need to register for the 5K or 10K. Distance transfers are available at no additional cost.

Our Story |
Our vision is to provide financial and emotional support to cancer patients and their families in Central Nebraska. Several types of assistance are available such as; gas cards, assistance with medical bills, household expenses, grocery cards, professional mental health resources, and much more.

The Race |
Race for GRACE was started in 2010 as a fundraiser for the GRACE Cancer Foundation. The purpose of the race is not only to raise funds to assist cancer patients in our area, but also to be an event to celebrate, honor, and remember those whose lives have been touched by cancer.
Participants may select from three different distance options:
CELEBRATION WALK
The Celebration Walk is a walking-only event for individuals and families who prefer a relaxed pace while supporting those impacted by cancer. The course will be approximately 1.4 miles. Participants must walk only. Running is not permitted on this course. Those wishing to run will need to register for the 5K or 10K.
5K Run or Walk
The 5K offers a dedicated running option for participants seeking a mid-distance challenge. Due to course adjustments, this year’s distance will be approximately 3.4 miles.
10K Run or Walk
The 10K will again be run on a USATF Certified Course. (USATF Certificate #NE25002GM)

Race Butterflies |
Add an on-course Butterfly to honor loved-ones either taken or impacted by cancer. These messages displaying your loved ones names can be placed on either the Celebration Walk, the 5k or 10k courses.
Butterflies can be purchased for 1 for $5, 2 for $8, 3 for $10, 4 for $15 or 5 for $20.
These can be purchased when registering for the race.

FAQ
Why did you change the distances?
After reviewing participant feedback and evaluating course flow and safety, we made intentional updates to create a smoother and more enjoyable race day experience.
What happened to the 2-Mile?
The 2-Mile has been replaced with the Celebration Walk, approximately 1.4 miles and walking-only.
Can I run the Celebration Walk?
No. The Celebration Walk is walking-only. Participants wishing to run must register for the 5K or 10K.
I registered for the 2-Mile. What happens now?
If you registered for the 2-Mile prior to March 1st, please keep an eye on your email for additional information about updating your registration. No immediate action is required at this time. Why is the Celebration Walk shorter?
The updated distance improves course flow and safety while maintaining a meaningful participation experience.
Why is the 5K 3.4 miles?
Due to course adjustments that improve participant flow and safety, the 5K will measure approximately 3.4 miles.
Is the 10K the same?
Yes. The 10K remains unchanged.
Do I need to do anything?
If you are happy with your current distance, no action is required.
Is there a fee to switch distances?
No. Distance transfers are available at no additional cost.
Is there a deadline to switch?
Distance transfer requests must be submitted by March 16th.
What if I want a refund?
Race for GRACE is a fundraising event supporting cancer patients and families. As outlined in our registration policy, refunds are not available.
