I know that running is a potentially hazardous activity, and I attest that I am physically fit and properly trained to compete in this event. I agree to abide by any decision of a race organizer relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with running in this race including, but not limited to, 1) falls or contact with other participants, 2) the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, 3) the conditions of the road, sidewalks, and other surfaces on which participation may occur, 4) traffic on the course, and 5) delays in receiving or inadequacy or unavailability of medical treatment or public safety. All risks are known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or roller blades, and animals are not allowed in the race. In consideration of my registration for this event, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, release and discharge the Champions of Wellness Road Race organizers, the Canton Public Schools, and any and all race sponsors from all claims, damages, rights of action, present or future, whether the same be known, anticipated or unanticipated, resulting from or arising out of, or in incident to, my preparation for and participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. Before, during, and after the race, I will abide by all Town of Canton and Canton Public Schools Rules and Regulations, including no consumption of alcohol or use of tobacco or tobacco products on Canton Public Schools grounds, to include parking lots and Memorial Field. I hereby grant full permission to any and all to use my likeness in all media including photographs, pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. I understand there will be no refunds in the unlikely event of a cancellation of this 5K. The Champions of Wellness Road Race organizers reserve the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of the organizer’s control such as weather, natural disasters, or other emergencies.
