Skylars love for running was founded after I ran a town turkey trot. She met me at the finish line and said “why didn’t I run it with you?” (At the prime age of 3.5). I haven’t run a 5k without her since and she has never looked back, becoming faster and stronger, growing her love for running with each mile.
Skylar and I will be running her 6th 5k and her second year participating in JR’s pause for a cause with her best friend Fred running by her side. We are hoping to raise money to help this amazing organization. Proceeds benefit Project Samana — a veterinary volunteer group that brings medical care and education to the Saman peninsula of the Dominican Republic and Schultz’s guest house and last hope K9– two local animal rescue groups. Skylar has an enormous, loving heart for animals and we hope that you join us on her mission of supporting these extremely worthy causes.
