CRMO Awareness Virtual 5K Walk-A-Thon - Team Meghan

Hello friends,

My family and I are hosting a CRMO Awareness 5K Walk/Run in Chicago on October 9 and we hope you can join us!

When & Where:

[b]Date: Saturday, October 9, 2021 [/b]

[b]Time: 11:00am - 1:00pm[/b]

[b]Location: We will meet at the lakefront, near the northwest corner of Wilson and Simonds. Free parking nearby. We will walk/run north along the walking path to Bryn Mawr Beach, and back to the starting point (3.1 miles). [/b]

What is CRMO?

As you may know, my sister, Meghan was diagnosed with Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis (CRMO) in 2019. CRMO is a rare auto inflammatory disease that mostly affects children, occurring in one out of every 1 million children. With CRMO, the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue and organs, causing inflammation and painful lesions on bones. CRMO is understood to be an extra intestinal manifestation of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which Meghan was diagnosed with in 2018.


Where will the funds go?

Your registration fee will help fund Kaila's Komfort, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that raises awareness for CRMO, ships personalized care packages to kids with CRMO, and donates a significant portion of 5K proceeds to CRMO research.
